Sleepy Sheep Count Stars

Once upon a time, in a soft green meadow, there lived a little white sheep named Woolly. Woolly was very, very sleepy, but she couldn’t fall asleep.

“Baa, baa,” said Woolly. “I’m so tired, but I can’t sleep!”

Woolly looked up at the dark sky. Twinkle, twinkle! There were beautiful stars shining down at her.

“Maybe I can count the stars,” said Woolly. “That might help me sleep.”

So Woolly began to count:

“One little star, shining bright, Two little stars in the night, Three little stars, soft and white, Four little stars, what a sight!”

As Woolly counted, her eyes grew heavy. The stars seemed to dance and sparkle just for her.

“Five little stars up so high, Six little stars in the sky, Seven little stars floating by, Eight little stars… yawn… so sleepy am I…”

Woolly’s head began to nod. Her soft wool felt warm and cozy in the cool night air.

“Nine little stars… so far away, Ten little stars… end of day…”

And before Woolly could count another star, she was fast asleep in the meadow. The stars watched over her all night long, keeping her safe and warm.

The moon smiled down and whispered, “Sleep tight, little sheep. Dream of counting stars until morning light.”

And Woolly slept peacefully until the sun came up, dreaming of twinkling stars and counting them one by one.

The End.
