The Drowsy Duckling

Once upon a time, in a quiet little pond, there lived a tiny yellow duckling named Sunny.

Sunny had the softest feathers and the tiniest orange feet. All day long, she would paddle around the pond, splashing gently in the cool water.

Splash, splash, splash went her little feet.

When the sun began to set, painting the sky pink and purple, Sunny started to feel very sleepy. Her little eyes grew heavy, and she let out the tiniest yawn.

“Peep,” she whispered softly.

Mama Duck swam over with her warm, cozy wings. “It’s time for bed, little Sunny,” she said in the gentlest voice.

Sunny nestled close to Mama Duck’s soft feathers. The water rocked them back and forth, back and forth, like a gentle cradle.

The moon smiled down at them, casting silver sparkles on the water. The gentle breeze made tiny ripples that sang a quiet lullaby.

“Sleep tight, my drowsy duckling,” whispered Mama Duck.

Sunny closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep, dreaming of warm sunshine and gentle splashes.

And in the quiet pond, all was peaceful and still.

The end.
