Purpose of the Role
The key purpose of this role is to safely operate and maintain defined packaging equipment and related processes to achieve optimal effectiveness.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Operate equipment and manage associated processes and performance in packaging.
- Interpret and implement the production plan for the shift.
- Operate manual and automatic machines on the line as per standards.
- Ensure process quality and productivity.
- Perform administrative tasks such as tracking and monitoring processes and taking action when required.
- Manage PIMS and POMS systems and take corrective action on negative trends.
- Use MES and related systems for process checks and downtime acknowledgment.
- Utilize OFRs (as per triggers).
- Contribute to AB reports as required.
- Ensure and maintain a safe and healthy work environment by raising Safety Improvement Opportunities (SIOs).
Minimum Requirements
- Education:
- Minimum Grade 12.
- Post-matric or equivalent (e.g., N4) – National Diploma or Equivalent.
- Added Advantage: IOB Certificate.
- Training:
- Minimum 9 months of on-the-job training.
- Completion of SKAP within 12 months.
- Experience:
- Experience within the Packaging FMCG industry.
