SALARY

R849 702 per annum (Level 11), plus benefits (an all-inclusive remuneration package).

  • The package includes a basic salary (70% of the package) and a flexible portion that may be structured in terms of applicable guidelines.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Educational Qualification: National Diploma/Degree in Transport Management, Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or a relevant qualification.
  • Experience: 3–5 years of relevant experience at the Assistant Director level in a Logistics Management environment.

DUTIES

  • Conduct research on national and provincial frameworks, policies, and guidelines.
  • Develop inventory management frameworks, policies, and methodologies for the Department.
  • Analyze warehouse operations and system functionality, recommending improvements for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Monitor the implementation of policies and processes.
  • Manage the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Conduct workshops on approved policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the receipt of goods and manage all aspects of inventory stock-taking.
  • Manage execution of asset inspections and monitor the final packaging of goods.
  • Monitor the handover of goods to the distribution and transportation unit.
  • Develop and maintain the inventory register.
  • Verify and update information in the inventory register against datasets.
  • Monitor the movement of goods and ensure proper record-keeping.
  • Maintain discipline and manage performance and staff development.
  • Undertake human resource and administrative functions.
  • Establish, implement, and maintain efficient and effective communication arrangements.
  • Develop, manage, and report on the operational plan of the unit.
  • Implement and maintain processes to ensure proper control of work.
  • Compile and submit required administrative reports.
  • Oversee procurement and asset management.
  • Planned and allocated work while ensuring quality control of employee output.
  • Provide functional technical advice and guidance.

SELECTION PROCESS
