Lancet Laboratories is seeking a suitable candidate for the position of Charge Sister. This permanent role is based at the KZN – Main Lab – Bleeding Room.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Management:
- Plan, organize, lead, and control nursing and administrative activities.
- Ensure compliance with protocols, operating procedures, and LEAN principles.
- Manage equipment maintenance, stock optimization, and cost reduction.
- Staff Management:
- Supervise and manage team performance, including scheduling, training, and discipline.
- Conduct shift handovers and performance evaluations.
- Customer Relations:
- Address service-related issues and maintain a positive organizational image.
- Liaise with medical professionals and hospital managers to promote services.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Prepare for internal and external quality audits.
- Reporting and Financial Oversight:
- Present regular operational reports.
- Supervise cashiering and banking processes.
- Phlebotomy and Client Engagement:
- Perform phlebotomy functions as needed.
- Proactively market and represent Lancet at public relations events.
Minimum Requirements
- Qualifications:
- Relevant Degree or Diploma.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- SANC Registration.
- Experience:
- 2-3 years of relevant working experience.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Phlebotomy procedures.
- Medical ethical guidelines and organizational policies.
- Anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology in pathology.
