Lancet Laboratories is seeking a suitable candidate for the position of Charge Sister. This permanent role is based at the KZN – Main Lab – Bleeding Room.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Management:
    • Plan, organize, lead, and control nursing and administrative activities.
    • Ensure compliance with protocols, operating procedures, and LEAN principles.
    • Manage equipment maintenance, stock optimization, and cost reduction.
  • Staff Management:
    • Supervise and manage team performance, including scheduling, training, and discipline.
    • Conduct shift handovers and performance evaluations.
  • Customer Relations:
    • Address service-related issues and maintain a positive organizational image.
    • Liaise with medical professionals and hospital managers to promote services.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
    • Prepare for internal and external quality audits.
  • Reporting and Financial Oversight:
    • Present regular operational reports.
    • Supervise cashiering and banking processes.
  • Phlebotomy and Client Engagement:
    • Perform phlebotomy functions as needed.
    • Proactively market and represent Lancet at public relations events.

Minimum Requirements

  • Qualifications:
    • Relevant Degree or Diploma.
    • Valid Driver’s License.
    • SANC Registration.
  • Experience:
    • 2-3 years of relevant working experience.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Phlebotomy procedures.
    • Medical ethical guidelines and organizational policies.
    • Anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology in pathology.

Compensation

Compensation is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
