- Form Z.83: Application for Employment Form, available at any Government Department or online at www.kznhealth.gov.za.
- Comprehensive CV: Must include detailed experience.
- Copies of Qualifications, HPCSA Registration Certificate, and Driver’s Licence: These documents are not required at the time of application but will be necessary later for shortlisted candidates.
Reference Number:
- Include the Reference Number of the post in the relevant column on Form Z.83.

- Appointments are subject to:
- Positive outcomes from State Security Agency (SSA) checks, including security clearance, criminal clearance, credit records, and citizenship.
- Verification of educational qualifications through SAQA.

- Verification with the Company Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC).
- Competency assessments and reference checks may be conducted during the selection process.
Additional Requirements

- Grade 1: R451,533.00 per annum (plus the 13th cheque, optional medical aid, and housing allowance).

Minimum Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Degree/Diploma in General Nursing PLUS 1-year post-basic qualification in Primary Health Care (PHC).
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as:
- A General Nurse.
- A Primary Health Care Nurse.
- Current SANC Receipt (2024).
Experience:
- Grade 1:
- Minimum of 4 years of appropriate/recognized experience as a General Nurse.
- At least 1 year in the Primary Health Care specialty.
- Grade 2:
- Minimum of 14 years of appropriate/recognized experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing.
- At least 10 years must be spent in the primary health care specialty after obtaining the post-basic qualification.
Other Requirements:
- Driver’s License: Code 10 (C1) with PDP.
Key Performance Areas:
- Perform clinical nursing practices in accordance with the scope of practice and nursing standards for a PHC facility.
- Render Comprehensive PHC Outreach Services as per the Core Package by providing services closer to the community.
- Identify underserved areas and provide necessary services to these locations.
- Planned and organized work and supervised support personnel to ensure proper nursing care delivery.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure quality care at the primary health care level.
- Demonstrate effective communication with patients, supervisors, and clinicians, including report writing as needed.
- Work effectively with individuals from diverse intellectual, cultural, racial, or religious backgrounds.
- Promote and advocate for proper treatment and care, ensuring responsiveness to patients’ needs in line with Batho Pele Principles.
Knowledge, Skills, Training, and Competencies:
- Understanding of nursing legislation and ethical nursing practices in a PHC environment.
- Basic knowledge of HR and financial policies and practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
