Job Purpose
The dispatch supervisor will manage the dispatch function, ensuring daily operations are planned, coordinated, and executed effectively and on time.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
- Grade 10.
- Tertiary qualification in Logistics/Transportation Management (or studying towards it) is advantageous.
Experience:
- At least 2 years in a supervisory position within the transport industry.
- Operational and administrative experience.
Skills and Certifications:
- Valid Code 14 driver’s license.
- Proficiency in MS Office and Outlook.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Hands-on involvement in all business areas.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervision and Administration:
- Handle administrative tasks related to dispatch.
- Supervise and control driver activities, including briefing and debriefing.
- Perform tacho and trip sheet analysis.
- Stock Management:
- Conduct daily stock counts for BCY Anchor, NCP, dry yeast, and gas.
- Order gas and BBS pallets as needed.
- Issue stock to the plant and perform raw material supply.
- Operations and Maintenance:
- Oversee machine maintenance, servicing, and hour meter recording.
- Report any machine breakdowns.
- Ensure the cold room is cleaned and temperature sheets are maintained.
- Scheduling and Invoicing:
- Schedule loads and dispatch vehicles.
- Monitor vehicle progress and utilization.
- Handle invoicing and batching.
- Staff Monitoring:
- Monitor staff performance and ensure adherence to company policies.
