Job Purpose

The dispatch supervisor will manage the dispatch function, ensuring daily operations are planned, coordinated, and executed effectively and on time.


Minimum Requirements

Education:

  • Grade 10.
  • Tertiary qualification in Logistics/Transportation Management (or studying towards it) is advantageous.

Experience:

  • At least 2 years in a supervisory position within the transport industry.
  • Operational and administrative experience.

Skills and Certifications:

  • Valid Code 14 driver’s license.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Hands-on involvement in all business areas.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Supervision and Administration:
    • Handle administrative tasks related to dispatch.
    • Supervise and control driver activities, including briefing and debriefing.
    • Perform tacho and trip sheet analysis.
  2. Stock Management:
    • Conduct daily stock counts for BCY Anchor, NCP, dry yeast, and gas.
    • Order gas and BBS pallets as needed.
    • Issue stock to the plant and perform raw material supply.
  3. Operations and Maintenance:
    • Oversee machine maintenance, servicing, and hour meter recording.
    • Report any machine breakdowns.
    • Ensure the cold room is cleaned and temperature sheets are maintained.
  4. Scheduling and Invoicing:
    • Schedule loads and dispatch vehicles.
    • Monitor vehicle progress and utilization.
    • Handle invoicing and batching.
  5. Staff Monitoring:
    • Monitor staff performance and ensure adherence to company policies.
