Position Overview
Job Purpose:
To manage the provision of sustainable electricity for informal settlements and low-cost housing in the municipal area, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, political directives, and budgetary constraints as outlined in the Municipality’s Integrated Development Plan.

Key Responsibilities and Attributes
- Strategic Management: Develop and implement policies, projects, and programs aligned with the Municipality’s objectives.
- Planning and Oversight: Conduct construction site visits, inspect projects, and manage budgetary allocations effectively.
- Communication Skills: Demonstrate proficiency in oral and written communication in English and at least one other local official language.
- Report Writing: Prepare detailed reports and deliver presentations with a high degree of professionalism.
- Managerial Skills: Exhibit strong interpersonal, communication, and budget management capabilities.
- Attention to Detail: Ensure thoroughness and precision in project planning and execution.
Qualifications and Experience
- Educational Requirements:
- B.Sc. or B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current).
- Professional Registration:
- Registered as a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist with ECSA.
- Experience:
- 5–7 years of relevant work experience.
- Driver’s Licence:
- Valid Code B driver’s license.
Special Conditions
- Physical Requirements:
- Must be physically fit and able-bodied.
- Must perform manual operations, construction site visits, and project inspections.
- Abilities:
- Sight, speech, and hearing capabilities are essential for the role.
