REQUIREMENTS

  • Qualifications:
    National Diploma or Degree in Transport Management, Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or relevant qualification.
  • Experience:
    3-5 years of relevant experience as a Senior/SCM Officer in Logistics and Transportation Management.

DUTIES

  • Policy Development and Implementation:
    • Research National/Provincial frameworks, policies, and guidelines.
    • Gather data for the development of distribution and transportation framework policies and methodologies.
    • Implement policies and processes.
    • Provide inputs for the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
    • Coordinate and conduct workshops on approved policies and procedures.
  • Distribution Management:
    • Support the development of a distribution system.
    • Control the movement of goods and develop distribution registers.
    • Ensure optimization of distribution processes and coordinate the protection of goods.
    • Determine transportation costs and provide recommendations.
    • Identify the best delivery routes and the most appropriate fleet for goods delivery.
    • Ensure goods are delivered according to service level agreements (SLAs).
    • Monitor the transportation of goods to clients.
  • Human Resource and Administrative Functions:
    • Maintain discipline and manage employee performance and development.
    • Undertake human resources and other related administrative functions.
    • Establish, implement, and maintain efficient and effective communication arrangements.
    • Develop and manage the operational plan for the unit, reporting progress as required.
    • Implement processes to ensure proper control of work.
  • Administrative and Quality Control:
    • Compile and submit administrative reports.
    • Oversee procurement and asset management.
    • Plan and allocate work, ensuring quality control of outputs.
    • Provide functional and technical advice and guidance.

SELECTION PROCESS

  • Shortlisted candidates may undergo a technical exercise to assess job-relevant technical skills.
